We LOVE our pet! On this page I'll describe Duke and his special place in our life.

 Hi, Duke is my name.

I was adopted June 3rd on my Moms birthday, I was a present. Wasn't she a lucky dog!! I have adapted well, they have a lot of room for me to run. But I can't understand what that black rope looking thing is for when they want to walk next to me. I am fine left in the yard where I can roam. I got some pep to the trot and I move faster then them sometimes.
They are always telling me that I am a good boy, but sometimes my Mom calls me a girl. Last time I checked I was a boy! Thats okay they are saving for my therapy next month!
About this potty training, I don't get it! My mom is handling it like  a champ. I will get it figured out soon. She just doesn't have time for therapy.

LUV,
DUKE

Letter from Mom,
My alternative healing never stops. Dukes has ear mites, so I did some research on the net and what I have found out to kill those parasitic vermints is to put olive oil in the ear and that smothers them and also put yellow dock down his ear and bath him in it as well and that kills the eggs. So what I am doing is:

Garlic oil - every other day down his ear canal
Garlic will always kill everything, so why not add it. Put garlic on the food too, it will come out thorough the skin as well and also help repel flees.

Yellow dock- I bought it in powder form at the health food store. All you have to do is mix it in hot water then stir. Do not make it to thick otherwise it will not travel done the ear canal to well. Make extra and dump it in the bath tub to bath with luke warm water and mix. The mites also go to the tip of the tail so don't miss that area. And also gently wash the ear out.

All this has to be repeated for 6 weeks. I started June11th and I will let you know how if we are successful in treating him.

8/22/2005- Treating the earmites was successful. But I have been told it is a ongoing deal in this part of the US. It also taught him how to love baths. He sure got alot of them..................
